1st Annual Veterans Appreciation Car show


Veterans Day Celebration 2016

Honoring 2016 Patton Award Recipients, The Rosies (Many surviving members of Rosie the Riveter Groups will be in attendance, along with their daughters, The Rosebuds), and 2016 Founders Award Recipient Stan Wolcott to be held at the historic entrance to Camp Young, the present day location of the General Patton Memorial Museum.The Chili Cook-off begins with registration at 8:00 am.The General Patton Museum opens at 9:00 am, admission is Free all day. The program begins at 11:00 am, with local dignitaries and officials presenting the awards, right after a fly-over of WW II Warbirds historical aircraft. A special reenactment of General Patton’s Address to the Troops will be part of the program.Vendors will be offering food, drinks, gift and souvenir items, along with military and historical memorabilia. The USPS will have a Veterans Day Memorial Station open to process requests of the unique Special Cancellation for the event.Raffle tickets will be available, lots of donate prizes, all proceeds go to benefit the General Patton Memorial Museum.

This is an outdoor, casual, fun event that informs about history and honors those who have served, and continue to serve. (Be prepared for variable weather in the desert climate; bring a light jacket, sunglasses and sunblock.)
